Brittani Williams was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, where she currently resides. She began writing when a school assignment required her to write a short play. This assignment showed her how far her imagination could go.
She started out writing short stories in play script form until deciding to take a plunge at changing the format to that of a novel. After doing some research and finding out how hard it was to get a publishing deal, she briefly gave up on writing. After attending college and switching majors a few times, she decided to get back to writing when she got an idea for an exciting story.
Next she self published a short story to get feedback and when each response was good she decided to write a novel-length version of it. After more research she came across Q-Boro Books' website and submitted her manuscript. They quickly responded and soon gave her a book deal.
Brittani thanks Mark Anthony and the entire Q-boro staff for giving her the opportunity to show the world what her family and friends have raved about since day one.
When Mecca’s parents are killed in front of her by a family friend, she learns that true friends are few and far between. She is taken in by her aunt, and soon finds out who is really riding for her and who is just around because they fear the wrath of Aunt Ruby. Making a deal with the devil doesn’t seem all that bad when you’re sitting on top of the world, with endless amounts of money and designer everything, but it’s not long before her beloved Aunt Ruby is snatched away from her. Mecca is forced to fend for herself. She learns to play with the hand she was dealt, but who will be left standing in the end? In Mecca’s world, everyone is suspect, and no one can be trusted, not even family. When the truth is revealed to her, it is up to Mecca to decide if she’ll do the right thing and lead a life of righteousness, or continue to walk down the same dark path as her aunt.
