Joyce Veranda Gray grew up in a small community in Maryland, USA near Washington D.C. She graduated from Fairmont Heights High School and later graduated from the University of Maryland. After working for a few years, she decided to serve as an officer in the United States Air Force. She graduated from Officers Training School in San Antonio, Texas and moved on to her first assignment in southern California.

Her experiences in the Air Force gave her an opportunity to travel to many parts of the world where she met different people with different cultures and life experiences. While in the military, she achieved her Masters Degree from Golden Gate University and a Masters Degree from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. After separating from the Air Force she started a successful and rewarding career in the Aerospace Industry.
Joyce had a passion for the arts particularity the fine arts. She enjoyed drawing and painting and browsing through art museums. She began writing in 2002 after the shooting death of a young innocent man by local police. She became so passionate about the injustice that she wrote a story called Final Passage. The success of the story led her to her second book Dark Karma and later The Wishing Well. She enjoys the genre of Science Fiction and Drama. In Science Fiction, the imagination is limitless and you can always tie it to the social events of the times we live in.
