Unexpectedly and without authorization, a member of Carter Garrison’s crew appears in the Bahamas, where a murder takes place. This marks the beginning of a series of violent events that bring upheaval to Mike Black’s criminal organization. 

Carter is an upper-level captain in Black’s organization. As he makes the rounds one night in one of their gambling spots, he comes across a woman who leaves him totally bewitched with her beauty and mystery. Carter wants to know everything about her, but it seems she’s a ghost, because information about her life is nonexistent beyond the past two years. Could she be a threat to The Family?   

Carter seeks to make her acquaintance to discern her true intentions. This results in a steamy affair . . . until one night, when death comes a-knocking and claims one of them.   

Meanwhile, The Family faces a war with the Italians because of an unsanctioned murder committed by a Family member. Can the war be averted through negotiation, or will death come to claim someone in Black’s organization?
